Service of Thanksgiving
Revelation: God Making Himself Known to Us
Silent Prayer and Meditation
Prelude: “Now Thank We All Our God” Cruger/Mendelssohn
Christian Greeting
Leader: The Lord be with you.
People: And also with you.
A Psalm of Thanksgiving based on Psalm 136
Leader: Let the people say…
Women: His steadfast love endures forever!
Men: Thanks be to God!
Adoration: Exalting Our Glorious God
*Hymn: For the Beauty of the Earth
Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion, and to you shall vows be performed. Happy are those whom you choose and bring near to live in your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, your holy temple.
Stanza 1: We praise Thee, O God, our Redeemer, Creator…
By awesome deeds you answer us with deliverance,
O God of our salvation; you are the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas. You silence the roaring of the seas, the crashing of their waves, the tumult of the peoples. Those who live at earth’s farthest bounds are awed by your signs.
Stanza 2: We worship Thee, God of our fathers…
You visit the earth and water it, you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water. You provide the people with grain, for so you have prepared it. You crown the year with your bounty; your wagon tracks overflow with riches.
Stanza 3: With voices united our praises we offer…
Amen.

Silent Prayers of Repentance
Corporate Prayer of Confession
We thank you, O God
for the manifold gifts you have given to us.
And yet we confess to you
that we have often taken for granted
your grace and your goodness toward us.
We have delighted in the gifts
rather than in the Giver.
We have praised ourselves
for what we have accomplished
rather than acknowledging that all good things
come from you.
Forgive us in your mercy, Lord,
and grant that we might be truly grateful
for all that you have given to us
through Jesus Christ, our Lord,
Amen.
Propitiation: God Declaring Forgiveness
Responsive Reading from Ephesians 1 & Romans 11
God, our God has blessed us.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing
in the heavenly places in Christ.
He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world,
that we should be holy and blameless before Him.
For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.
In Him we have redemption through His blood,
the forgiveness of our sins,
according to the riches of His grace
which He lavished upon us.
For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.
In Him also we have obtained an inheritance,
having been predestined according to His purpose,
who works all things after the counsel of His will,
to the end that we who were the first to hope ion Christ
should live to the praise of His glory.
For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.
In Him you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
who is given as a pledge of our inheritance,
with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession,
to the praise of His glory.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing
in the heavenly places in Christ,
to whom be the glory forever. Amen.
Leader: In Christ your sins are forgiven you!
